EAGER to get my squat back to its previous strength, tonight I broke my programming, tripling 185 instead of repping 175 for 5. It felt strong, but then it bloody well should. Once I’m repping 220+ kilos I’ll be back to where I was late last year, and I can start legit progression once more. Keeping in mind, of course, that squatting with the axle is very different from squatting with a cambered bar. I like it though.
I also used wraps again tonight, for maybe the third time in my life. Not that I needed them for my money set, but I need to get accustomed to them as I will be relying on them in the future no doubt; might as well start wrapping now.
There are a couple of new exercises included in my routine going forward… well, the pinwheels are an old favourite, but this time I’m to do 20-rep sets at the end of the routine, for tendon strength. The various rows are likewise to target perceived weaknesses.
I hope to find the time to work on my improvised Monster DB this weekend… it’s hit a few snags, but I am confident I’ll put it together soon enough.
